Reporting A Claim

Accidents happen, and when they do you want to be able to get your claim settled as fairly and as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances and insurer there can be different ways of making your claim. If you can, we would initially advise giving our office a ring on 01288 353999 and we can advise on the best route of proceeding with your claim.


If out of business hours and it’s an emergency then you can ring your insurance company directly on the claims helpline numbers listed within your policy documentation or alternatively we have listed some of the main insurers claimsline numbers below for the main insurance products including, motor, household, business etc.

Private Car Insurance Claims
The Law. If you are involved in an incident involving injury to any person or certain animals, or if other vehicles or property are damaged then you must stop at the scene. You must give your name and address to any third party who has a good reason for asking. If you own the vehicle you should also give them your insurance details, if not owned give them the owners name and address plus registration of the car.
If there are any injury’s or you do not give your details to anyone at the scheme you must report the incident to the police within 24 hours.

  • Do not admit fault.
  • Collect any third party information including third party names, address’s, phone numbers, vehicles make, model, registration number, details of any known injury’s, property damaged, witnesses (if any), police officers and report references, a full description of what happened including road/street names, taking photos with a camera or mobile phone can also help with the accident process.

  • Please remove all personal belongings from your car before it is taken away for assessment or repair.
